More efficient punching and rolling

Posted on

“From chipping come chips”. Actually this saying derives from wood processing; however it also applies to the so-called metal cutting industry, where milling, drilling and punching machines produce umpteen tons of metallic waste each year. A large part of these metals will be recycled, requiring huge amounts of energy. On average, modern punching machines can save 10% of material; rolling machines enable even completely chipless though high-precision manufacturing. – This film was facilitated, among other things, through cooperation with the Blue Compentence Initiative of the VDMA. The film partners, Profiroll Technologies GmbH, Trumpf and ZF Friedrichshafen AG, are examples of the initiative’s success.
